ABOUT A GIRL

For you curious creatures, Cam is short for Camelia. Yes, like the flower.

Cam is a writer, editor and journalist with over 8 years experience in digital and print media. She has worked with various publishers and brands to plan and shape their editorial and commercial content strategies.

As Content Editor at the cutting-edge creative tech agency Newsroom AI, she contributed in bringing innovation and creativity to the forefront, shaping branded narratives that captivated audiences and pushed boundaries. At Time Out Singapore, she donned multiple hats including City Life Writer and Acting Digital Editor, which allowed her to showcase her versatility and leadership in the ever-evolving print, digital and social media landscape. She was also a Lifestyle Writer at Honeycombers, and a Commercial Content Executive at Bauer Media where she had her first taste of the industry.

Her work has been published in Time Out (Singapore, London, New York, Hong Kong, and Global), Metro, Grazia, Empire, Paste Magazine, ASOS, gal-dem, Bad Form, The Right To Dance, Her World, RICE, Honeycombers, The Luna Collective, Reclamation Magazine, and The Debrief to name a few. From the pulsating beats of nightlife to the introspective realms of cultural commentary, her work spans genres and geographies, resonating with audiences worldwide.

While most of the skills acquired come from the trials and tribulations of adulting as a working Millennial in the digital era, some of them come from attaining a Bachelor's Degree (Hons) in English Language and Creative Writing at the University of Westminster, and a Master's Degree in Language and Cultural Diversity at King's College London. Oh, and she also completed a course in Magic in the Middle Ages with Coursera during the lockdown while finishing her Master's and working full-time (just sayin').

When she's not typing away, she's either living vicariously through Nara Smith on TikTok or scrolling through the endless stream of relatable posts on X (fka Twitter).
